Report: 21 Day National workshop on ‘Teaching & Learning in Prakrit Language’ organized by Parshwanath Vidyapeeth from 15th November to 5th December, 2021
Parshwanath Vidyapeeth, Varanasi organized a 21 Day National workshop on ‘Teaching & Learning in Prakrit Language’ from 15th November to 5th December, 2021. This workshop was sponsored by Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi (formerly known as Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan). It was organized in collaboration with Gujarat University which has a MoU with Parshwanath Vidyapeeth for Academic Exchange Programme. The Inaugural session of the workshop was held on 15th November, 2021. Prof. K. D. Tripathi, Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Wardha, chaired the session and Prof. Harishankar Pandey, Dean Faculty of Student Welfare; Sampurnanand Sanskrit University was the chief Guest. Guest of Honor was Prof. V S Shukla, Director IGNCA, Regional Centre. All the scholars appreciated the efforts of Parshwanath Vidyapeeth made in the area of teaching and learning in Prakrit. Dr. S. P. Pandey, Jt. Director Parshwanath Vidyapeeth welcomed the guests and presented his view on the necessity and purpose of organizing workshops on Prakrit Language. He told that if the Indian culture is to be understood properly and thoroughly, the knowledge of Prakrit along with Pali and Sanskrt is very necessary.
In this workshop Prof. D. N. Sharma, School of Languages, Gujarat University was the main faculty member. Other scholars who engaged classes of Prakrit Grammar were Prof. J. R. Bhattacharya from Shanti Niketan, Bolepur (WB) and Prof. D C Jain, former Professor and Head, Jodhpur University, presently living in Jaipur taught the students Prakrit grammar through various texts. Prof. Maheshwari Prasad, Prof, A. K. Jain, Prof. Pradyumn P. Shah, Prof. V. S. Shukla, Prof. Phool Chad Jain were the guest faculty for this workshop who engaged special classes on the subject. Total 83 lectures were delivered on different aspects of Prakrit Grammar. On 4th December a written test and viva-voce was conducted and on behalf of the result, the winners were given prizes in the valedictory session of the workshop.
Valedictory session of the workshop was held on 5th December, 2021. Prof. K K Sharma Chaired the session and Prof. V. S. Shukla, Director IGNCA was the Chief Guest. Sh. Indrabhooti Barar, Vice President of Parshwanath Vidyapeeth Managing committee was the Guest of Honor. More than 32 participants from various places of India attended the workshop and got benefitted by this academic endeavor of Parshwanath Vidyapeeth. Those who were given prizes were- Sh. Abhay Kumar (First Prize), Ms. Neetu Yadav, (Second Prize) and Ms. Madhu Prajapati (Third Prize). Dr. Priyanka Singh and Shwetaketu Shukla were given consolation prizes. In the Valedictory session Dr. O. P. Singh presented the report of the workshop and Dr. Sanjeev Saraf conducted the workshop. At last Dr. O. P. Singh casted the vote of thanks. Dr. Sanjay Singh, Sh. Rajesh Chaubey and other staff members added value to the workshop by assisting it in many ways.

International Yoga Day Celebration 2021
21st June, 2021, Parshwanath Vidyapeeth, Varanasi. On the eve of Interntional Yoga Day more than 30 participants including the students of P G Diploma in Yoga Education participated and practiced Yoga and presented various programmes coordinate by Dr. Sanjay Singh. The programme was started at 9.00 am with the Managalacharana by Ms. Neetu Yadav & Ms. Neha Jaiswal. Dr. S. P. Pandey, Joint Director, Parshwanath Vidyapeeth welcomed the Participants. Then the Protocol Programme started at 9.15 am. Ms. Neetu Yadav gave her voice instruction to the presentations. It was started with the chanting by Ms. Vandana & Ms. Neha. Then after Chalana kriya and Standing Posture Yoga Asanas were started by Mr. Roshan Singh. Sitting Posture Yoga Asanas were performed under the guidance of Mr. Mehul Yadav. Prone and Supine Postures Yoga Asanas were practiced under the guidance of Ms. Neha & Mr. Harishchandra. Then the Pranayama segment of the programme started. Kapalabhati, Pranayama and Dhyana were monitored by Mr. Ravindra Yogi. Sankalpa (oath) was taken under the instruction of Mr. Saurabh Singh. At the last Mrs. Minakshi & Mrs. Suneeta presented the Shantipath.
In the II segment fusion of Yoga with Music was presented by the three groups of the students who were preparing since long for this event. Under this musical events like Adi Yogi (by Roshan, Neha, Neetu, Rvindra, Mehul, Saurabh and Suneeta), Deepa Yoga (by Praveen), Surya Namaskara (by Ravindra, Saurabh and Harishchandra), Solo (by Mehul), Fast Yoga (by Roshan) and Yoga Geeta (by Suneeta).
The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. O. P. Singh.
